Overview
Are you a strategic IT professional with a passion for designing and implementing efficient operational systems? We're seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist to join our client, a leading global organization in the financial services sector.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in planning, developing, and launching critical IT infrastructure that supports core organizational functions. You'll be instrumental in ensuring high system availability while managing service improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy new IT services and enhance existing ones
- Provide 3rd line IT support and resolve escalated incidents promptly
- Manage systems for monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, and security patching
- Maintain high availability of production systems to agreed service levels
- Proactively assist in developing strategic goals and tactical plans for corporate systems
- Participate in disaster recovery procedures for business-critical systems
- Research and recommend hardware/software products to support purchasing efforts
- Create and enforce policies for standardizing systems and software
Skills & Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server and/or Microsoft 365)
- Strong proficiency with VMware virtualization
- Working knowledge of cloud solutions including AWS and Azure
- Experience with technology stacks for compute, storage, and network products (Cisco UCS, HP Nimble, Pure)
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and technologies (Terraform, Ansible) is advantageous
- Scripting experience with Python, YAML, and PowerShell is beneficial
- Proven experience with backup/restore packages (CommVault experience preferred)
- Systematic, logical approach to problem-solving with meticulous attention to detail

Additional Information
- Location: London
- Hours: Full-time with occasional unsocial hours as required
- On-call: Participation in an existing on-call rota to support outside normal office hours
