We are currently working with the specialty division of an international insurance broker to recruit a Business Analyst into their London office. The position will be situated in the London market broking department and will initially be focused on supporting the delivery of various business and IT projects. This will be suitable for both experienced Business Analysts as well as Operational candidates with some insurance experience looking to go into projects. It will also work with internal IT and external software houses to ensure they understand needs. The Business Analyst works with the Business to successfully leverage existing technology, and also proactively identify and champion opportunities to further enable and streamline business process through IT development.
Core Responsibilities;
- Co-ordinates IT development projects on behalf of the London Market Operations business units within the context of;
- Understanding the business needs
- FCA and London Market regulations and direction
- Knowledge of Business processes and challenges
- Maintain an oversight of all IT projects within scope and escalate concerns.
- Work with the business to translate business requirements into formal, structured IT requests.
- Manage specification/enhancement reviews to ensure the business fully appreciate the detail before committing to spend.
- Leverage existing projects, systems, and capabilities as appropriate, to maximise benefit to the Business.
- Maintain two-way communication channels between the Business and IT in order to maximize opportunities to develop common understanding of the key drivers of both
- Help develop test protocols
- Manage reporting/MI production to management and teams
- Interact with the offshore teams and help develop procedures
